Job Title: Endoscopy Technician Profession: Technician

Shift: 10 hours, Monday-Friday, 4x10s; varied start between 6:30 AM
- 8:00 AM with rotating day off during the week Experience: 2 years
or more current Endoscopy Technician experience required License:
NH Medical Technician License required for the assignment; must be
willing to apply for a temporary/provisional license upon
acceptance Certifications: BLS (AHA), NH Medical Technician
Must-Have: - Associate's Degree or higher required - Two separate
facility supervisory references from different locations within the
previous three years Description: Initial COVID vaccination
required. Medical and religious exemptions accepted on
facility-approved forms. Assists physicians and nursing staff with
interventional endoscopic procedures. Collects data for an
objective assessment to identify patient needs. May be
cross-trained to work in multiple areas. Provides technical skills
as a member of the team. Communicates with supervisors, team
members, and medical staff. Assists physicians with various
procedures including EGD, flexible sigmoidoscopies, colonoscopies,
bronchoscopies, and more. Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions.
Responsible for procedure room preparation and turnover. Gathers
and organizes required supplies and non-controlled pharmaceuticals
for procedures. Restocks supplies as needed and ensures that
emergency procedure travel carts are fully functional. Maintains a
safe environment for patients and staff in compliance with
regulations and hospital policies. Prepares rooms for isolation and
protection against airborne diseases. Maintains knowledge of
professional and practice issues related to endoscopy and
gastroenterology. Attends in-services and identifies learning
needs. Certification from relevant organizations is strongly
encouraged. Enters data related to staff present and scopes
utilized into the documentation system. Responsible for collection,
labeling, and handling of all specimens collected during
procedures. Remains calm in emergent situations and adapts to
dynamic patient needs. Participates in performance improvement
activities. Serves as a preceptor to train new staff including
endoscopy technicians and nursing staff. Assists in training
medical personnel with new equipment. Responsible for the
decontamination and high-level disinfection of endoscopes according
to manufacturer guidelines. Maintains documentation records of
reprocessing for quality purposes. Conducts quality checks as
required.
