Who we are looking for:
We are currently looking for an Inventory Control Analyst to be based out of the New Bedford- Flaherty manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will report to the OPEX/Receiving Manager. This position will play an important role in daily and monthly cycle counts as well as ensuring timely payments to our suppliers through their part of the receiving process. They will work cross-functionally with teams such as Procurement, Operations, Receiving, Distribution, Quality, Production Planning and Accounts Payable all with a focus on continuous improvement to achieve Atkore's daily production targets and satisfy our customer needs.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of inventory control experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting. A minimum of a high school diploma. Preferably Associate's/Bachelor's Degree. They will have a strong understanding of Microsoft excel, word, outlook, Basware, and knowledge of JDE or other warehouse management systems. Strong communication skills are extremely important. The ability to maintain work on a timely schedule and ability to adapt to situations. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.
What you'll do


  • Lead daily receiving process for multiple departments.
  • Work with operations and other team members to perform daily inventory counts.
  • Assist/lead with employees with monthly cycle counts and auditing process.
  • Lead daily replenishment needs to the production team to support OSC and OTD goals.
  • Work with Procurement and AP to resolve any Supplier payment issues.
  • Work with material handlers to assist them with daily work from receiving and WIP conversion to Finish Good.
  • Report KPI performance measures pertaining to cycle counts, delivery, P2P, and material planning/consumption.
  • Assist with JDE system daily workflow and troubleshooting process failures.
  • Taking part in Kaizens and project development as needed.
  • Work with the Warehouse, Quality and Operations to assist with traceability of production inquiries.


    What you'll bring:

    • 3-5 Years of Inventory Control experience is required.
    • Experience with ERP systems is required.
    • Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
    • Strong inventory management skills.
    • Strong communication skills to ensure.
    • Timely resolution of supplier receivables.
    • Clear reporting of KPI Goals and challenges.
    • Focus on inventory accuracy and identifying accountability to failed inventory process.
    • Assist and lead process improvement and inventory control requirements.

      Within 3 months, you'll:

      • Attend daily Gemba walks for both operations and warehouse to report daily results and identify new action items.
      • Monitor the daily receiving process and ensure data accuracy in a timely manner.
      • Familiarize yourself with all raw materials and WIP produced on the floor and the standard processes required for receiving, storing, transferring, and consuming on the production line.
      • Take over inventory tracking and reporting responsibility from the Ops team and become.
      • Receive and manage all customer returns until the crediting process has been completed.
      • Work with quality on all WIP assembly process failures as needed.

        Within 6 months, you'll:

        • Prep daily cycle counts in JDE and lead team members on the floor to achieve Atkore driven targets related to Safety, Quality, and Inventory accuracy.
        • Work with procurement, accounts payable, and other teams to resolve daily receiving issues and ensure on time payments to suppliers by using JDE and Basware.
        • Work with operations, warehouse, EHS and the OPEX Manager to identify all safety, quality, and inventory process improvement opportunities.
        • Lead corrective actions for all WIP conversion issues. Work with quality to on any NCR changes related two WIP and material handling processes.
        • Work with multiple teams to identify and manage Min/Max levels address any storage capacity or quality concerns.
        • Work with OPEX/Receiving manager to identify storage and material handling improvements.


          Within 12 months, you'll:

          • Lead JDE daily and monthly cycle counts on the floor with the guidance of the OPEX Manager.
          • Work with production, planning team, and wrapping station personnel to process daily workflow, specials, quality issues as well as production related failures due to overrun early production.
          • Support all team leaders and provide guidance to the material handlers with standard process specific to cycle counting, material handling, and storage.
          • Control the daily replenishment process for staging areas.
          • Work with R&D, Procurement, Operations, and maintenance to assist with equipment and materials for new projects.
