Job Description:
Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Profession: Cardiac Cath Lab

experience License: State licensed in New Hampshire Certifications:
ACLS, BLS, RT or RCIS Certification Must-Have: RCIS certification
within 1 year of hire ACLS/BLS Description: The weekday call is
from 16:00 to 07:30 the next morning. Weekend call starts at 16:00
on Friday until 07:30 on Monday. Most staff works 10-hour shifts;
shifts vary. The unit has 4 holding beds, 4 observation beds, and 3
procedural rooms. Patient ratios depend on whether you are working
in the procedural room or in holding. In the procedural room, there
are 3 people per team for 1 patient. Generally, there are 2
patients per nurse in holding. The unit is staffed by 1 unit
coordinator, 5 RCIS/Techs, and 7 RNs. Not all members are present
each day. Generally, about 9-10 staff members are scheduled daily.
Equipment includes GE x-ray system, GE hemodynamics, and Meditech
documentation. Documentation is performed using Meditech.
Scheduling requirements are for 5 days a week, generally involving
10 days of call per month. If no cases are available, you may be
asked to float, which is rare. Cath lab experience is preferred,
especially for travel staff. ACLS and BLS certifications are
required. Advanced skills in cardiac catheterizations, PCI, STEMI,
peripheral angiograms, interventions, and implant procedures are
needed. Procedures performed include implants for PPM, ICD, CRT-D,
EP studies, and ablations. Scrubs are provided as part of the dress
code.
