Integrated in the T&P ESS team, the ESS Technical Director is
responsible for direction and execution of technical aspects
throughout the ESS BU. This includes support to operations, due
diligence and strategy definition, project management and support
to business development throughout the ESS BU. This position is
remote or located in our main Office in the US. This individual
must have a strong background in the technical field in the
environmental business with experience in business operations,
knowledge of finance principles and project management. The
position will also require leadership of some special projects such
as capital expenditure projects. Hazardous waste transfer stations
and solidification (TSDF) Hazardous water Incineration plant
Hazardous waste Landfill Medical waste autoclaves Solvent
regeneration distillation plant Emerging market such as electronic
wastes, Mercury engineered fuel, Blade recycling and EVB Primary
Duties /Responsibilities: Do troubleshooting of existing Hazard
Waste processes & build debottlenecking/revamping/growth plans with
operational teams Produce basic conceptual design of new treatment
lines for: hazardous wastes incineration liquid hazardous waste
(oil water separation, evapoconcentration, physico-chemical
separative technologies, neutralization & redox reactions, membrane
bioreactors & MBBR, NF/RO membranes, mineral and organic sludge
dewatering) recycling opportunities landfill and associated
activities Train operational teams to raise their technical
background and provide technical mentoring and training to O&M
employees. Provide technical and operational expertise to
operations, business development and EHS when needed. Develop new
process optimizations or pilot new technologies,coordinating some
tests with corporate functions(BS&P) Participate to the
development of associated business cases and memos for internal
GoNoGo (WIN process) Provide the overall direction and management
of his/her assigned projects, including the assigned personnel,
equipment, and subcontractors, applying proper and effective
project management procedures and skills. Ensure the project or
assignment is planned and coordinated according to the required
schedule, with strict adherence to health and safety, quality and
budget considerations. Lead technical due diligence of new business
acquisition or plant upgrades. Provide technical mentoring and
training to O&M employees. Provide technical and operational
expertise to operations, business development and EHS when needed.
Assist Business Development in preparation of estimates and
procedures in planning of projects, financial estimates with a
strong focus on operational efficiencies. Ensure technical quality
and optimal health and safety in all aspects of job performance and
compliance per all applicable local regulations and standards and
Veolia corporate and VNA standards and best practices Test and
implement new tools under development Train operational teams to
raise their technical background Work in cooperation with
Performance team members. Other duties as directed. Work
Environment: Hybrid work policy (office/remote) Travel 25% of the
time Required to Travel across ESS locations on a regular basis
based on project assignment Qualifications Education / Experience /
Background: 10-15 years experience in transversal technical
functions and/or operational functions (ex : operation manager,
plant manager, technical manager) Experience in
hazardous/industrial waste treatment, industrial wastewater
treatment Experience in oil or solvent recovery is a strong asset
BS degree in technical studies - Engineer Knowledge / Skills /
Abilities: Language skills for business in English, French is an
asset Thinking skills: decision making ability, seasoned judgment.
Skills in leadership, planning, coordination and labor relations.
Strong skills in analysis and problem solving. Personal depth, in
the form of mature confidence, adaptability, self direction, and
organization. Ability to foster teamwork and excellence in
expertise work coordination. Outstanding writing, communication
skills both up and down and mentoring skills. Must be committed to

Certification / Licenses / Training: Driving license P-Eng is an
asset Physical Requirements: Pass medical and drug tests.
Additional Information Targeted Annual Pay Range: Minimum of
$150000 to a maximum of $160,000, DEO Benefits: Veolia's
